Our Partners and Supporters
The Bandwidth Consortium (BWC) is a flagship project of the Partnership for Higher Education in Africa (PHEA; http://www.foundation-partnership.org/index.php?id=29). Four of the seven major US foundations that constitute the Partnership provide financial support for the BWC project. These are:
- The Carnegie Corporation of New York (http://www.carnegie.org/),
- The Ford Foundation (http://www.fordfound.org/),
- The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation (http://www.macfound.org/), and
- The Rockefeller Foundation (http://www.rockfound.org/).
The following two members of the Partnership provide additional financial support to the host-institution of the BWC project:
- The MacArthur Foundation (http://www.macfound.org/), and
- The Carnegie Corporation (http://www.carnegie.org/)
Key strategic partners for this project include the Association of African Universities (http://aau.org/) and the UbuntuNet Alliance (http://www.ubuntunet.net/). The Network Start-up Resource Centre (http://nsrc.org/) and others provide invaluable technical assistance for the BWC project. Various individuals, agencies, organizations and Firms (such as http://datasphir.com, http://skannet.com.ng/ and http://tinitop.com.ng/, among others) also assist the project in various capacities.
Several of the BWC member institutions are also PHEA partners, and the African Network Operators Group (http://afnog.org/) has been commissioned by the Partnership to provide technical training for them. KPMG (http://www.ng.kpmg.com/index.thtml/) has also been retained to provide business advisory support for the BWC project.
Through the years, Intelsat (http://www.intelsat.com/) has proved to be a valuable partner of the Consortium.
