Join the Bandwidth Consortium

The Bandwidth Consortium Project seeks to encourage cooperation and leverage economies of scale by purchasing Internet bandwidth in bulk thus achieving volume discounts and extending these savings to tertiary educational and research institutions in Africa.

How to join the Consortium

Mandatory Requirements

  1. The applicant must be an educational, research institutions or non-profit organization.
  2. The institution must have an internal network for distribution of the bandwidth.
  3. A one month deposit in the amount of bandwidth to be purchased must be deposited in advance with the ICT Forum. The deposit will be returned upon successful conclusion of your contract or transited to your next contract, depending on your institutional choice
  4. All payments must be made in advance, on a quarterly or biannual or annual basis.
  5. Signing of the Bandwidth Agreement
  6. Purchase and installation of the required connection equipment (VSAT, Microwave Radios, or Optic-fiber Interface
  7. Valid network operator license or permission

This application form must be completed by institution’s interested in joining the Bandwidth Consortium. We will review your application and provide feedback on the status of the application within two (2) weeks.
